The Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club hosts a 2-day all-breed conformation show and obedience trial in October. 

Club members are active in a variety of doggie events, including obedience, conformation, agility, herding, lure coursing, tracking, earth dog, carting, search and rescue, pet-assisted therapy, breed-specific rescue, service dog training, judging, and K-9 law enforcement training.

The Club supports and assists the local Humane Society Shelter and donates books on dogs to the Lawrence Public Library.
